ITINERARY OF: 3 NIGHTS CAMEL TREKKING IN SAHARA DESERT
First day:
Upon your arrival at our hotel in Merzouga, you will securely store your vehicle and prepare your essential belongings for the desert nights. The 3-night camel trip in Morocco begins in the late afternoon, around 2 hours before nightfall, and leads you deep into the core of the Sahara desert.
The trek lasts approximately 90 minutes, allowing you to witness one of Morocco’s most exquisite sunsets. If you are interested, you can also partake in sandboarding. Along the way, there will be a pause in the heart of the Sahara for photography and to appreciate the scenic views until sunset.
Afterwards, you will proceed to the camp, where you will be welcomed with a refreshing glass of mint tea and have the opportunity to unwind until dinner.
Following the evening meal, there will be a performance of traditional Berber drumming music around the fire. You may then appreciate the clear night sky filled with stars and spend the night at a campsite consisting of Berber-style tents.
Second day:
We suggest arising early to see the dawn, since it presents a captivating spectacle when viewed over the sand dunes. Following breakfast, we will go on a journey lasting a few hours to reach our next location. Along the route, we will make a brief halt in a little oasis nestled among the dunes to have lunch.
On the second night, you will stay at the home of a Berber Nomad family, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy authentic cuisine and engage in meaningful interactions with the local community. This experience will provide valuable insights into the lifestyle of the Berber nomads in the Sahara.
Third day:
We will wake up early to see the sunrise, after which we will have breakfast and go on a camel journey lasting around 1.5 to 2 hours, leading us further into the desert towards the third camp.
A traditional Moroccan lunch will be provided, accompanied by refreshing mint tea, under the shade of a tree in the desert.
You will have enough opportunity to unwind and rest among the sand dunes. After seeing the sunset, the evening will include a delectable traditional feast and cozy sleeping arrangements for everyone.
Fourth day:
On the following day, it is advisable to get up early in the morning to see the sunrise and capture stunning photographs. After enjoying these delightful moments, you may indulge in a delectable meal and freshen up with a shower at the camp.
Subsequently, you will resume camel trekking to return to the initial starting point, or alternatively, we may arrange for direct transport from the camp to the hamlet.
