Day 1: Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate to the Draa Valley to the Zagora Dunes

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 AM in an air-conditioned 4WD car or van for your two-day desert trip from Marrakech to Zagora. To get to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, we will first cross the high Atlas Mountains through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, which has a view of the green slopes of the mountains.

This is where many famous Hollywood movies were made. If you like beautiful nature, you should come see the view from the top of the tallest hill. Then we’ll make a stop in Ouarzazate, also known as “Africa’s Hollywood,” to see Kasbah Taourirt and eat lunch there.

After that, we’ll drive through the 180 km of deserts in the Draa valley. We will finally get to Zagora in the afternoon, where we will ride horses to our camel-based desert camp. We will have a hot meal and listen to some local music before going to sleep in tents.

Day 2: Zagora Dunes, Ouarzazate, and Marrakech

You will be woken up before sunrise on the second day of your two-day Zagora desert tour so that you can enjoy the first beautiful rays of light that mark the start of a new day and a new adventure. We will start the day with a traditional Berber breakfast in one of Zagora’s bivouacs.

We will then ride horses to get to our cars and head to Ouarzazate for lunch. After lunch, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech at 5 p.m., ending your two-day desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora.
